• Most auto rental companies offer a product called a “collision damage waiver” that covers some loss of, or damage to, the rental automobile. It is also referred to as a “loss damage waiver.”
  The collision damage waiver protects you in the event that you damage an automobile that you have rented. It protects you by transferring the responsibility for the cost of the damage from you to the auto rental company.

No collision Damage Waiver
IIf you are not already covered under your automobile insurance policy, through your credit card, or otherwise, and you choose NOT to purchase the collision damage waiver from the auto rental company, you will be responsible for the costs resulting from any at-fault damage to the automobile while it is in your care.

Vehicle Theft Waiver
This waives the renter's liability for theft or attempted theft of the rented vehicle only. This waiver may carry an excess/deductible or liability depending on the vehicle and country of rental.

Liability Insurance
Every country has a minimum amount of insurance needed for someone to be permitted to drive. This covers the renter’s liability for any damage caused to other people and/or other people’s property. It is limited to a maximum of $90,000.00. The insurance is limited and there is a deductable i.e. you will be liable for any amount over and above the value of the insurance. 

Premium Location / Airport fee
For rentals commencing within the St.Maarten Cruise Facility, there is a mandatory premium location fee or formally known as “Port Charge” USD$15.00, this fee is standard with all rental enterprises operating at the cruise facility in St.Maarten. For rentals commencing outside of the Cruise facility, Coastal will NOT charge a location/or airport fee.

VAT Local Tax
This is a tax applied by the government on car rentals and the percentage 10%.

Road Fund Tax (RFT)
This is a charge applied by rental companies to cover the cost of vehicle licensing. Coastal does not apply this charge to any of it’s rentals.
